🤯 Google Unveils Quantum Breakthrough
And OpenAI releases video model
Hey everybody,
This week marks two massive leaps in tech: Google unveiled its groundbreaking Willow quantum chip, shattering limits in computation, and OpenAI launched Sora, a next-gen video generator.
Let’s take a look at both!

🤯 Google unveils new state-of-the-art quantum computing chip
Google just unveiled Willow, their groundbreaking quantum chip, and it’s a game changer. This chip smashes a 30-year challenge in quantum error correction by scaling qubits with exponentially fewer errors. Even crazier, Willow completed a benchmark computation in under five minutes, a task that would take a top-tier supercomputer 10 septillion years, far outlasting the age of the universe. This is a huge development and I’m excited to share more when it’s available.

👀 Why Large Language Models Make Things Up (And How to Fix It)
AI hallucinations, where models produce confident but fictional answers, pose a significant challenge in production. These issues stem from the lack of true reasoning, as LLMs rely on word patterns rather than understanding. Kapa.ai, work with teams from Docker to Monday.com to tackle this. They shared their insights in this blog.

Sora is here
OpenAI has officially launched its video generation model, Sora, at Sora.com, now available for ChatGPT Plus and Pro users. Initially introduced earlier this year, Sora creates realistic videos from text and serves as a stepping stone toward AI that understands and simulates the real world.
The updated version, Sora Turbo, delivers significantly faster performance than its February preview. Users can generate videos up to 1080p resolution, lasting up to 20 seconds, with options for widescreen, vertical, or square aspect ratios. Whether you want to remix existing assets or craft new videos entirely from text, Sora allows you to do both.
What’s new? The platform introduces a redesigned interface for easier interaction, enabling prompts using text, images, and videos. Its storyboard tool lets users fine-tune each frame, providing precise control over their creations.
This release is a pretty major milestone in video-generation AI. Here are some examples below.
sora is launching today to all chatgpt pro and plus users!
it's been a big effort to make this possible + i think the product is really fun & intuitive.
my fav thing to do is generate fake historical found footage. video inpainting is also really strong.
have fun!— will depue (@willdepue)
